This isn't a yoga class or a stress-management seminar. MBSR is a structured, clinically-developed program used in hospitals, universities, and wellness centers worldwide. It was originally developed at UMass Medical School to help patients with chronic pain, anxiety, and stress-related illness.

Over 8 weekly sessions, you'll learn body scan meditation, gentle mindful movement, sitting meditation, and how to bring moment-to-moment awareness into your daily life. No experience necessary. No special equipment. Just you, showing up.

Each session is led by Addy Stamenova, NP, a DNP candidate at Hawaii Pacific University, bringing academic rigor, warmth, and genuine care to every session. This cohort is part of her DNP research — meaning you get a world-class experience, completely free.

📚 Science-backed: Research published in leading medical journals shows MBSR significantly reduces symptoms of anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and burnout — with effects that last years after completion.

You don't need to be stressed
to benefit from this.

MBSR meets you exactly where you are. Whether you're navigating a difficult season or simply ready to live with more intention, this program was designed for you.

These are words from MBSR graduates worldwide — the same program you'll experience right here in Portsmouth.

"

My stress level was about a 9, completely self-induced. My life is completely different now, eight weeks later. The stress level I started with has decreased to a 3.

— Mary F., MBSR Graduate
"

I feel like I now carry around inside of me a loving companion instead of a harsh critic and judge. I've been meditating for over a decade — MBSR was something different.

— Kathy B., MBSR Graduate
"

Four weeks in, I stopped smoking — a 42-year habit. This had not been in my plan at all. Sleep improved. Coffee intake decreased. Remarkable.

— Tony C., Yoga Instructor & MBSR Graduate
